Hi, I’m Dillon! I’m Dillon, a Youth and Family Therapist specializing in life transitions, self-esteem issues, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma symptom reduction, relationship dynamics, and various other mental health challenges. My practice is person-centered, and I value meeting my clients where they are in each session. I wholeheartedly embrace the phrase “Be Here Now” and am committed to being present and grateful as I assist each client on their mental health journey. I don’t have a specific approach that’s set in stone; I believe in building the therapeutic alliance on empathy and validation. I hope that each client leaves my office with a better understanding of their own truth and a sense of being understood. I have a personal connection to how mental health affects our youth population. I also deeply understand how substance use and mental health interact. Above all, my priorities are ensuring clients feel safe and heard. I’m nonjudgmental and believe in a collaborative process of progress, not perfection. Additionally, I’m very interested in exploring elements of music or art in therapy.
The Professional StuffI am currently a QMHP-R. and have a Master’s in Counseling with a specialization in co-occurring conditions from the University of South Dakota. I started as a substance use disorder counselor and moved to school-based mental health therapy. I was a former artist and later worked as a music manager in Los Angeles after attending law school at Gonzaga University. I managed Mary Lambert from the beginning of her career through her iconic Grammy performance of “Same Love” with Macklemore & Madonna. In 2014, we received an award from the Obama Administration and the United Nations for our dedication and advocacy for marriage equality.
The Personal Stuff
I have an 11-year-old daughter and live in Ashland where I spend my time playing basketball and listening to records with my partner who is the love of my life.
